The leader of the global R&D team mobilized his global management team. They decided to inject a new way of innovating to multiply the performance of the company. Everyone committed to transforming the teams’ mindset and to bring innovation in processes and products. In two years, with only one session per month of individual and collective support and coaching for each member of the management team, the company has gained leadership never reached in its markets.

Built in Quebec in the 1960s with audacity and innovation, the company had lost its entrepreneurial spirit. Its growth was stable, with few or no new products in its market. The shift made 3 years ago to reconnect with innovation yielded mixed results.

Guided by new ambitions, a strategy was deployed and resulted in strong innovations in terms of products for customers, and process for the company. What have we implemented?
The executives were the initiators of the new strategy. The two innovation leaders, however, were the ones who guided managers in putting innovation at the forefront, with strategic and operational leaders in several divisions. An unprecedented process! Individual and group monthly meetings have guided the transformation, and everyone has a renewed engagement with a disruptive mindset in terms of time, objectives, market and products.

Human Resources did not have an HR program common to all countries and were, therefore, missing out on the advantages that came with the international power of the company. The time global HR managers spent together was devoted to sharing best practices.
After:
HR is now a global team of connected people, aligned with one common goal: to have the best talent in key leadership roles and to increase the number of internal promotions. Connexion TIP managed to guide the whole organization in this direction, as well as create the necessary tools for them to execute. HR has been able to engage senior executives at the highest levels of the business, and change the nature of their connection to HR. Success indicators showed expected results were surpassed: employee engagement, for example, went from 59% to more than 75%.

The connection of the ten team members at the four corners of the world was essential, thanks to the creation of significant personal and professional relationships. Dedication to an ambitious future, the collective ownership of a common agenda, as well as the implementation of a common language and framework for working effectively both together and with leaders, were all equally important and critical.

It not only reached the required level of cost reduction, it did better! Indicators showed costs were reduced by 25% more when compared to the target. In addition, there was a 20% gain in customer satisfaction and a 20% increase in employee engagement.
